NOTICE INVITING BIDS – NOVEMBER 10, 2025

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received in the bid box at the Ventura County Fire Protection District’s main office located at 2400 Conejo Spectrum Street, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320 not later than 1:00 PM, December 09, 2025 for a contract for the Building Renovations & Modifications of Engine Garage Doors at Fire Station 33, located at 33 Lake Sherwood Drive, Westlake, CA 91361.

Estimated cost of construction is: $170,000

General Description of the Work: The Work includes the following:

Removal of existing apparatus bay doors, associated framing, and electrical connections; installation of new sectional overhead doors and assemblies complete with structural framing modifications, anchors, supports, controls, and safety devices; replacement of associated electrical conduit and wiring to integrate with existing power service; and testing for full operational function.

The Work also includes site improvements consisting of selective demolition to accommodate one (1) new ADA-compliant parking stall, installation of new truncated dome detectable warning panels, new striping, signage, and minor asphalt patching.

Additional work elements include installation of steel bollards for door protection, surface preparation and repair of surrounding concrete as required for a complete installation, and restoration of all affected surfaces to match existing conditions.

All work shall be completed within 30 working days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. (See Standard Specification 6-3.2.1.)

Prevailing Wage/Department of Industrial Relations (DIR): This project consists of “public works” under Labor Code section 1720 et seq. subject to payment of prevailing wages. California general prevailing wage rates for construction can be obtained from: http://www.dir.ca.gov/OPRL/DPreWageDetermination.htm Contractor and all subcontractors must be registered with DIR prior to bidding. Non-mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled on November 20, 2025 @ 9:00 AM at the project site. The meeting will be held for the purpose of answering any questions concerning the project. Although not mandatory, attendance is recommended. All corrections and changes deemed necessary based on discussions held at the pre-bid meeting shall be forwarded to all Plan Holders as an addendum or RFI clarification, as applicable.

Bids must be submitted on the proposal form furnished with the Bid Documents. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the amount of not less than 10% of the amount bid, PAYABLE TO THE VENTURA COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT and guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract in accordance with the terms of the Bid Documents if award is made. The bid guarantee shall be in one of the following forms: a bid bond written by an admitted surety insurer on the form included with the proposal form, a cashier's check drawn by a National bank, a check certified by a National bank or cash. The bid bond must have the original signatures of the principal and surety.

Bidders must have a Class A or B California Contractors license and will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract price. In accordance with Section 22300 of the Public Contract Code, securities may be substituted for funds withheld.
