Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received in the bid box at the Ventura County Fire Protection District’s (herein VCFPD, District, Owner or Agency) main office located at 2400 Conejo Spectrum Street, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320 not later than 1:00 PM, February 03, 2026 for a contract for the New Communications Tower, located at Fire Station 21, 1201 East Ojai Avenue, Ojai, CA 93023.

This Contract is for the Headquarters HVAC Replacement Project. In general, the Work includes demolition and disposal of three existing rooftop HVAC units and installation of Owner-furnished Contractor-installed Trane HVAC units including all new rooftop ductwork, isolation system, roof repair, bracing and framing. Work also includes removal and replacement of all interior VAV units including associated ceiling removal and replacement, flex duct replacement at supply and returns, piping and valves as shown in the bid plans and specifications. Construction plans have been approved through Ventura County Building & Safety (herein VCBS) Permit BP25-03027. Technical Specifications are in APPENDIX 1 and the Drawings are in APPENDIX 2. The awarded Contractor shall pull the permit and approved Drawings from VCBS and shall comply with all permit conditions, including any required inspections and documentation throughout construction. The Fire District shall pay for the permits.

In general, the Work includes removing the existing built-up roofing system on all low-slope roof areas and installing a complete new Garland SBS modified bitumen roofing system, including all associated membranes, flashings, cover board, tapered transitions, sheet metal components, walk pads, and a new roof access hatch and curb as shown in the approved drawings.

Removal of existing apparatus bay doors, associated framing, and electrical connections; installation of new sectional overhead doors and assemblies complete with structural framing modifications, anchors, supports, controls, and safety devices; replacement of associated electrical conduit and wiring to integrate with existing power service; and testing for full operational function. The Work also includes site improvements consisting of selective demolition to accommodate one (1) new ADA-compliant parking stall, installation of new truncated dome detectable warning panels, new striping, signage, and minor asphalt patching.
